Before the pandemic, the sale of processed/unhealthy foods was declining. Because of the pandemic, those items are flying off the shelves
When panic for the coronavirus first came, items like toilet paper to processed foods were flying off the shelves. When walking in the store during those times, seeing many isles empty on goods gave the feeling of scarcity for many.
Before the pandemic, sales of cheerios were slowing. During the pandemic, sales of cheerios were skyrocketing. Cheerios is one of the many big food brands that are being revived thanks to the pandemic.
Some might wonder if the sales momentum will continue. Because the stay-at-home orders might continue throughout the rest of 2020 and into 2021, there is a great chance that people will still be shopping the products they enjoy from General Mills, Kellogg’s, Campbells, etc.
Furthermore, there is also a great chance that the sales volume Big Food is experiencing will stay after the pandemic. Because consumers have chosen to return to the Big Food brands and have enjoyed their products, they’ll likely continue to buy those products.
Meanwhile, it’s great to see people doing well in hard times.
