About Me

About Me

I'm Jassem Khan, an Economics & Accounting major at UC Santa Barbara. As a kid, I've always gained a fascination with the stock market. While my interest in it was low during my early years, my interest gained immensely when I chose to dive deep into it during the summer after ninth grade.

What originally deterred me from diving deep into the stock market was how complex it looked. All the charts, technical indicators, and the knowledge you needed to understand the business world made the stock market look like calculus to me. While I wasn't a person that loved math, I did love counting money. That love for counting money made the stock market a lot easier to learn.

I was lucky to play squash growing up. Since many in the squash community are big in business, I've been able to build connections and gain knowledge from people who have a great understanding of the business world and the stock market. While I didn't get any internships, I did gain knowledge that was invaluable.

That knowledge is what has helped me to outperform the S&P 500 (on a simulator) and navigate the stock market during its most volatile times.

Since I've been receiving praise on my perspectives of the stock market from my investor friends as well as my peers, I've decided to my thoughts on the internet.

And that is why I created Dissecting the Markets.
